These are the latest spy shots of the facelifted Ford Fiesta, which will go on sale in October after its premiere at the Paris motor show.
Ford’s insiders describe the changes as a “nip and tuck”, with new front-end styling inspired by the Ford Evos concept from last year’s Frankfurt motor show. Our photos show the slimmer headlights and a bolder trapezoidal grille initially previewed on the Fiesta ST concept.
Production models are likely to have the badge featured more prominently than the current car.
Mechanical changes will include the introduction of Ford’s 1.0-litre three-cylinder Ecoboost engine, although there will be no significant revisions to the suspension or steering.
The performance-orientated Fiesta ST will go on sale in 2013. It will be powered by a 1.6-litre Ecoboost engine tuned to produce 180bhp. The engine is the same basic unit as found in Ford’s WRC car. The engine is tipped to be mated to a short-throw six-speed manual gearbox
