This is the third generation of the Skoda Octavia estate. The load-lugger saw its first public outing at the Geneva motor show.
The Skoda Octavia estate will offer a maximum 1740 litres of boot capacity with the rear seats folded flat, comfortably outspacing anything else in its segment. The new model, which will launch in the UK in early June, will offer a standard seats-up capacity of 610 litres.
The new car’s wheelbase is 11cm longer than the hatchback, resulting in a 73mm increase in rear passenger room. It is 90mm longer and 45mm wider than the current Octavia estate.
Practical features include a double-sided boot mat, a luggage net, bag hooks and an ice scraper in the fuel filler cap.
Engines are expected to mirror the hatchback’s, with a potent vRS version set to follow in the summer.
Skoda has also unveiled the new Octavia 4x4 in Geneva. As before, the car will feature a Haldex clutch, but this is likely to be mated exclusively to the 2.0-litre TDI engine.
