New crossover will be shown on 16 November; single preview image released ahead of reveal

The next-generation Mazda CX-5 will make its world debut at the LA motor show next month.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 has now been revealed. Click here to view it.

Only one image previewing the car’s exterior has been released, but visible design features, such as the pinched headlight and a lengthy bonnet suggest the CX-5’s look will take influence from Mazda’s larger CX-9 SUV.

The outgoing CX-5’s 2.0 petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are likely to be retained, with small gains in performance and reductions in CO2 output. Pricing will also stay close to that of the current-generation crossover, which’s starts at £23,195 in Britain.

When it arrives, the 2017 car will be a rival to the Nissan Qashqai and Honda CR-V.

More information will be released when Mazda pulls the covers off its all-new CX-5 in Los Angeles on the 16 November.

Correction...

Mazda "aren't" bringing the CX-9 over to the UK.
I'm gutted about that.

I wonder if it will offer

Increased interior space? My wife's current one is great, but we would love more boot space. The CX-9 would have probably fixed that, Mazda are bringing it over here ( sad emoji), so I wonder if they'll offer s little more interior space as a compromise?
Looking forward to the release!
