Soft-top Aston Martin V12 Vantage to premiere in London this week; limited-edition Infiniti M35h launched; 1.0-litre Formula Ford sets 11th fastest ever Nordschleife time

The open-topped Roadster version of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage will make its world motor show debut at the Salon Privé event in London this week. With a price tag of £150,000, the Roadster shares the same 510bhp 5.9-litre powerplant as the hardtop V12 Vantage and matches its 190mph top speed.

Infiniti has announced a limited-run Business Edition trim for its M35h hybrid saloon. Available until the end of 2012, the version is described as being optimised for business users, partially thanks to its 22 per cent company car tax band classification for 2012-13. Standard equipment above previous M35h models includes Infiniti’s Connectiviti+ navigation system. The Business Edition is priced from £42,020 on-the-road.

A one-off road-legal Formula Ford racing car has achieved the 11th fastest ever lap around the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost-engined car achieved a 7m 22s lap time (average speed 105mph) in the hands of Nick Tandy. The car was fitted with wheel covers, headlights, street-legal tyres and a horn. The intention of the project was to publicise Ford’s three-cylinder 1.0 EcoBoost petrol engine. The 202bhp car recorded a lap time quicker than any other three or four-cylinder engined vehicle and also beat supercars including the Lamborghini Aventador and Pagani Zonda.

Two special Skoda Octavia editions have been announced. The Octavia SE Connect is based on the SE and adds £1,680 worth of extra kit, including 16in alloy wheels, rear park sensors, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity. The model, available solely with a 1.6-litre TDI engine, is currently offered with a 25 per cent discount, priced at £13,990 (hatch) and £14,760 (estate). The £21,260 (£23,495 estate) vRS Blackline adds £1,900 of extras including black alloys, Amudsden navigation, DAB and leather trim. Three years' free servicing and a £500 deposit contribution is included for buyers taking Skoda finance.

I believe generally speaking,

I believe generally speaking, black has been one of the most popular colours in Europe for the past decade, whilst in America the opposite was true, with white. Interesting that a Formula Ford, has set the Nurburgring record. Lets try a Skoda S2000 rally car.
