The Volkswagen Polo Match is a tech-heavy, run-out model for the sixth generation hatchback, ahead of an all-new Polo arriving next year.
The final version of VW’s Ford Fiesta rival is priced from £13,315 and gets top-spec Car-Net App-Connect infotainment as standard. This includes Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Mirrorlink smartphone connectivity, as well as increased app compatibility that includes Spotify and Skype.
Additionally, VW’s own Call & Remind app, which allows the driver to make a to-do list while stationary in the car, is featured, as is Cam Connect, which can link to a GoPro Hero4 camera and display its image on the screen.
There are also heated door mirrors with electric folding mechanisms, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, air conditioning and automatic wipers, plus follow-me-home headlights, rear parking sensors and cruise control are all included.
The car sits on 15-inch alloy wheels as standard, and comes in three and five-door bodystyles.
It gets a choice of three engines producing between 59bhp and 89bhp. There are two petrols, a 1.0-litre three-cylinder and 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, plus one diesel, a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel.
The 1.2 petrol comes with a choice of manual or DSG automatic transmissions. The rest are exclusively mated to the former.
