Extra luxuries for less with a Suzuki Grand Vitara X-EC

Suzuki has introduced a new range-topping trim level to its Grand Vitara soft-roader.A Grand Vitara X-EC will cost you £16,999 for a 2.0-litre petrol model, or £18,499 for the more popular 1.9 DDiS. Whichever engine you choose, you get unique metallic grey painwork and 17-inch alloys, silver roof rails, bonnet trim and black side mouldings to distinguish your X-EC from all those other Grand Vitaras you see on the road.Other extras include keyless entry, leather steering wheel, Alcantara upholstery and sat-nav equipped with 12-months subscription to Trafficmaster's guidance system, which directs you along the fastest possible route. This is on top of the Grand Vitara's standard equipment, which includes climate control, reclining rear seats and wheel-mounted audio controls. The Vitara may not have fared best of our soft-roader mega test (31 October issue), but it still impressed with its handling and performance delivery, so with this equipment level at this price it would be a good choice.
