Jeep has introduced new limited-edition variants of its Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Compass models.
The Jeep Compass Black Edition gets gloss black accents including the step pads, 18in alloys, front grille inserts, roof rails, headlamp and fog lamp surrounds. It will be available in four-wheel-drive configuration with Jeep’s 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine, which delivers 161bhp and 236lb ft of torque.
Based on the Sport trim line, the Jeep Wrangler Mountain will be available as a two-door or four-door. Exterior features include a black ‘Mountain’ decal on the hood, front gray grille and high-gloss gray 17in wheels. Other additions include side steps and a black fuel-filler cover from Mopar, the Chrysler Group’s parts and accessories arm.
Interior equipment adds to the standard equipment of the Sport trim with a leather steering-wheel with integrated controls and Mopar floor mats and grab handles. The fabric seats have an embroidered ‘Mountain’ logo. A new exterior colour, Gecko Green, has been added to the range available in the Wrangler line-up.
The Jeep Wrangler Mountain can be powered by either a 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine or a 3.6-litre V6 petrol unit. The oilburner is available as a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual, with the petrol offered only with the auto ‘box.
The Compass Black Edition will reach the UK in August, although the Jeep Wrangler Mountain won’t be offered in the domestic market.
