Hyundai reveals limited-run i10 and i30 ES models

Hyundai is capitalising on its reputation for value and the imminent introduction of the UK’s scrappage scheme by offering limited-run special editions of both the i10 and i30 hatchbacks.

The Hyundai i10 ES (standing, apparently, for Extra Special) gets the same basic kit as the entry-level 1.1-litre Hyundai i10 Classic, but adds remote central locking, some interior trim tweaks and body-coloured door mirrors and bumpers.

Scrappage scheme to begin Monday 18 May

The Hyundai i10 ES is priced at £7195, but those able to take advantage of the scrappage scheme, which begins next Monday, will get a further £1000 discount on top of the scrappage grant, taking the price of the Hyundai i10 ES to just £5195.

The Hyundai i30 ES adds climate control, reversing sensors and 16-inch alloys to the specification of the 1.4-litre Comfort model. The i30 ES costs £11,795, but Hyundai will add £1500 to the government’s £1000 scrappage discount, bringing the cost down to £8,295.

Just 1000 Hyundai i10 ES models will be made, along with 500 examples of the i30 ES.
