Daihatsu has come top of the 2009 German JD Power Survey, finishing ahead of national heavyweights Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW in the process.
The small Toyota subsidiary, which only sold 13,726 cars in Germany last year, was first ahead of Alfa Romeo and Mercedes after the two firms tied for second.

BMW and Audi performed worse than in 2008, as BMW finished fourth, while Audi and Toyota tied for fifth. Last year, BMW and Audi were second and fourth respectively.
Smart and Chevrolet were the two manufacturers which finished bottom and second bottom out of the 27 ranked.
