The grille might be familiar, but Chrysler isn’t joking when it says this Treo concept explores the outer limits of the Jeep brand.
Powered by two electric motors, mounted one on each axle, the tiny 3235mm-long concept is built to take three people, or two plus luggage.
Design boss Trevor Creed’s brief was to pen a car which would extend Jeep’s customer base a decade from now. The Treo concept is designed to use drive-by-wire and fuel-cell or other powertrains.
Another neat trick is swivelling controls, so that steering wheel, pedals, instruments and speedo slide across to transfer from right-hand to left-hand drive at the touch of a button. Radio, sat-nav and touch-screen climate control is located in a second, removable module.
