The Ferrari 458 Spider and revised Ferrari California will make their UK debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Ferrari 458 Spider and revised Ferrari California will make their UK debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs between June 29 and July 1.

The 458 Spider is Maranello’s first mid-engined convertible with a folding metal roof. The electric hard-top unit is 25kg lighter than the fabric hood fitted to the F430 Spider and is fully deployed in 14sec.

Under the £200k supercar’s skin lies a 4.5-litre V8, which serves up 562bhp and 398lb ft torque, enough to launch the Spider to a top speed of 199mph and 0-62mph sprint time of 3.4sec.

Drive is transferred to the rear wheels via a 7-speed twin clutch automated manual gearbox.

Ferrari’s second UK launch car – the Ferrari California 30 – benefits from a 30bhp power hike over the previous model – now 483bhp – as well as a weight reduction of 30kg.

The torque curve of the 4.3-litre V8 has also been modified and is higher across the engine’s rev range, with maximum torque of 372lb ft coming at 5000rpm. The car’s 0-62mph time is now 3.8sec, 0.1sec quicker than the previous version.

The Prancing Horse will also showcase its new £227k, four-seat FF model at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Guess that Autocar's budget

Guess that Autocar's budget is feeling the pinch, hence more and more non-stories/press releases, such as the above, and fewer vids?
