A one-off Nissan GT-R, built to raise money for the Usain Bolt Foundation, has been unveiled today at the Detroit motor show. The GT-R features interior fittings finished in real gold and is embossed with the Olympic champion’s signature.
The gold supercar will be auctioned on eBay to raise funds for Bolt’s charity, which supports children and young people in Jamaica.
Bolt is brand ambassador and “Director of Excitement” for Nissan. As part of its involvement, Nissan will develop a series of limited-run GT-R models which will be available around the world.
According to Nissan, Bolt has been developing his own “Bolt GT-R” after testing various models at Nissan’s proving ground in Oppama, Japan.
